Three union organizations protested in front of the AFP facilities requesting that the reform to be presented by President Nayib Bukele in a few days to the Legislative Assembly (LA), should not increase the number of years to be able to retire for both men and women.

In addition, the unionists call on the President to establish in the reform of the Sistema de Pensiones (SAP), a regulatory calculation of the basic salary between 65% and 75% to guarantee fair and lifelong pensions.

"We want a new pension law because we believe that the creation of this Instituto Autónomo de Previsión Social will solve most of the pension issues", expressed the leader of AGEPYM, Mario Montes.

Also, another proposal of the unionists is the creation of an Instituto Autónomo de Previsión social, which consists of all salaried workers and those who receive remuneration for their work, can contribute in a single institution and all salvadorans can access to real savings for pensions.

For the leader of the AGEPYM it is important that this institute be created so that it can have the capacity to manage the workers' fund at 50%, the state 25% and private enterprise 25%, and thus be able to define the investment capacity of the workers' savings.
