The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE), in conjunction with the SMODA Cluster MSEs, held the catwalk called "Paraíso Vivo Collection, Spring Summer 2022".

The SMODA cluster starts at the launch of EXPOMYPE 2019, with 65 salvadoran companies, which are dedicated to the economic sector of fashion, transforming their products in an innovative way through their designs.

The MSEs that make up SMODA, are advised by a creative committee of distinguished designers in the country, who share their knowledge and experience ad honorem, which is led by the successful fashion designer Carlos Herrera.

From the year 2021 new categories are included that have great relevance in the current market such as home and natural cosmetics; promoting a more complete portfolio of products and increasing the commercial demand of the cluster. The purpose of the cluster is to position El Salvador as an emerging space of creativity, functionality and quality, to continue impacting and energizing the fashion industry nationally and internationally.

Paraíso Vivo, Spring Summer 2022, had 6 fashion shows, highlighting the participation of the collection of the Cooperativa Mujer Avanza, which is composed of 40 entrepreneurial and talented women, who through the Government of President Nayib Bukele and inter-institutional work, have been accompanied with technical business training, innovation, associativity and fashion design.

Cooperativa Mujer Avanza is made up of women entrepreneurs who were fired without severance pay in 2020 by the Florenzi maquila, since the owners refused to pay their fees after closing the company.

During the event, a showroom was held, which had 25 exhibition modules of different household products, decoration, accessories and natural cosmetics.

Currently, the companies participating in the SMODA cluster report annual sales of approximately $538,681.50 and generate between 3.5 permanent and temporary jobs, and it is projected that by 2022 there will be close to 20 companies.

With this type of business strengthening for MSEs, it is expected to have an increase of 15% to 25% of their sales each year, which will create new employment opportunities.
