ISTU seeks to attract tourists with cultural activities in downtown San Salvador

The President of the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo (ISTU), Eny Aguiñada, announced that in a few days a tourist circuit will be activated in the heart of the capital city.

The head of the ISTU, said that next saturday may 8, there will be free tours in heritage sites in the historic center of San Salvador, the accompaniment will be with specialized guides, to learn about the history of the country.

Referring to the activities that will be part of SivArt, which will be one of many activations of tourist spots, with the purpose of recovering the history and that the population has the opportunity to enjoy it.

Also, on sunday we will have free guided tours in emblematic places such as the National Palace, the SivArt activity will culminate at night with a light show", said the head of the ISTU, also said that salvadorans can enjoy the National Folkloric Ballet and other guided tours to remember historical facts of the capital city.

Aguiñada, informed that the ISTU building, located in Rubén Darío street in downtown San Salvador, has been remodeled, since that infrastructure stopped being used three years ago due to the blockade of informal sales, but with the reorganization it has been recovered.

She said that the Central Government has managed to transform the reality of the country, surpassing the projections of visitors; an example is the record of the Easter vacations, in which the estimated number of foreign tourists in the country was 170,000 and more than 200,000 were received.
