On august 1st and 2nd, four Migration offices will remain open to the public

Written by Evelyn Alas

If you are about to travel outside the salvadoran borders this August vacation, please take into account the following information.

In order to meet the demand for issuance of passports and other immigration services, the Directorate General of Immigration and Foreigners (DGME), will attend to the public today and tomorrow august 2.

The institution confirmed that these two days will work in offices in San Miguel, Usulután, Santa Ana and Las Cascadas, the latter in the shopping center, located in the municipality of Antiguo Cuscatlán, La Libertad.

The opening hours will be from 7:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon at the Santa Ana, San Miguel and Usulután branches, while Las Cascadas will be open from 8:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.

The decision to work on these days is due to the fact that, for travel reasons during the patron saint festivities of San Salvador, in honor of the Divine Savior of the World, requests for issuance and renewal of passports and other migratory documents increase.

Among the other services, whose demand increases for those days, are the certifications of migratory movements, pre-checks of travelers by land, certificates of no restriction to leave the national territory, review of authorizations to leave the country for children and adolescents.

The institution reminds parents that they should pay special attention to the previous revision of the exit permit for minors, which is done at the DGME windows, in order to avoid setbacks when traveling out of the country.

This verification of the permission granted by one of the parents if the minor is traveling alone with one of them, and by both parents if traveling with a third person, is made in compliance with the provisions of the Law for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents and the Special Law on Migration and Foreigners.
