12 thousand jobs have been placed in the private sector during the last few months

The Ministry of Labor confirmed that it has placed 12 thousand new jobs throughout the national territory and the State has created more than 60 thousand, providing opportunity to those who need it most.

The head of this Ministry, Rolando Castro, explained that according to the last measurement made through the Sistema del Mercado Laboral (SIMEL), not only the jobs that were lost during the pandemic were replaced, but also the figures were surpassed.

The last measurement showed that the fall that occurred during the pandemic has been stabilized, reaching a very strong growth of 68,000 to 70,000 new jobs.

Minister Castro detailed that compared to 2019 and 2020 the highest annual number of jobs created did not exceed 10,800, despite the fact that every year thousands of people reached the minimum working age.

The best results in the placement of a greater number of salvadorans in decent and well-paid jobs, so far in 2021 and 2022 has been possible thanks to the implementation of the Labor Insertion Program, through which companies from different productive sectors have hired, including people over 40 years old, young people between 18 and 21 (without work experience) and people with disabilities.

In addition, through the Labor Migration Program, the Government, through the Ministry of Labor, has sent more than 2,000 salvadorans to work in companies in the United States, Alaska and Canada. This action prevented compatriots from venturing to migrate, illegally and exposing their lives, in search of the American dream. Likewise, Minister Castro confirmed that the first contingents of Salvadorans are being sent to work in companies in Italy and Spain.
