The platform of the Sistema de Información de Mercado Laboral (SIMEL), details that the country is about to reach one million salvadorans with new jobs, informed, today, the minister of Labor, Rolando Castro. This represents a historic figure for El Salvador and a very significant advance for the development of the territory.

"We are reaching 961,249 contributors by october 2022, we believe that in november and december this figure will be surpassed. The announcement is that, for the first time, we are reaching the point of placing one million salvadorans in formal and decent jobs", he emphasized.

He also informed that through the creation and placement of the employment exchange of the Ministerio de Trabajo y Previsión Social, 15,000 new jobs have been generated. This is an unprecedented fact, since during this administration more jobs are being created throughout the country than those achieved during past administrations.

"We are not only talking about 15,000 new jobs created by the ministry, we are talking about 15,000 families who will be able to provide for their families, who will have their plate of food this Christmas and in a sustained manner", he said.

The official indicated that this figure does not include the 4,000 jobs generated through the Labor Migration Program in the United States and the hundreds of workers sent to Canada. Neither are the apprenticeship and temporary contracts that have been placed during this Christmas season.

Meanwhile, the head of Labor reported that from the last semester of 2019 to date there has been a growth in the employer sector; he detailed that there are 3,524 new companies in the country, which evidences the solid rule of law and confidence that has positively impacted in the creation of more opportunities for salvadorans.
