Written by Coralia Cuellar

Banco Promerica always seeks to finance sustainability and guarantee the future of new generations, which is why they have incorporated it as a strategic commitment in order to contribute to a more prosperous and inclusive society that uses natural resources responsibly.

In june of this year Promerica issued the first sustainable thematic bond in El Salvador for a tranche of US$20 million, with this resource they seek to support the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) banking, banking led by women and also to young entrepreneurs, green credits.

Banking with solidarity supports visits to nursing homes, schools, and children's homes so that the institution can deliver donations.

Promerica is also transforming itself by installing solar panels, lighting, and eco-efficient air conditioners to make the company less polluting. In addition, the bank is conducting studies to install photovoltaic panels in some agencies in the country.

Another of the bets is that more people avoid not only the use of transportation to get to their agencies, but also less use of paper, to such an extent that today savings accounts are 100% digital, the account statements arrive to the email of their customers.

Banco Promerica's mobile account can be created from the app to facilitate the process and mobility for customers. There is also the cardless cash withdrawal, with just one touch users can get cash easily.

There is also a corporate volunteer program "Héroe Promericano" where human talent is the protagonist, and this project is supported by Banca Con Solidaridad.

The pillars of this project are: community, education, women and the environment.

The CSR program, Banca Con Solidaridad, works in different areas, carrying out different activities throughout the year, as well as supporting foundations and NGOs that work directly in the communities to build a better country.
