Holcim El Salvador received the 100% Energy Recovery (Empaque Positivo) distinction, awarded by the international certifier Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), for recovering from the environment an amount equal to or greater than the equivalent of the paper used in its cement packaging, to be transformed into energy. SGS - which has more than 2,300 offices and laboratories around the world - validated all processes in paper recovery and, as a result, issued the declaration under ISO 14021:2016.

Knowing that the business sector is key to the economic dynamism and transformation of El Salvador, the Derecho y Negocios magazine, held a gala to recognize the leading companies that are generating positive impact in the country, among which Holcim El Salvador was one of them.

In recognition of its leadership in innovative and sustainable solutions for construction, Holcim El Salvador receives the CHAMPIONS OF SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION / 2022 AWARD given each year by the El Salvador Green Building Council (ESGBC), a non-profit organization that promotes leadership and ecological awareness in the construction market to achieve sustainable development in the country.

Contributing to create a cleaner, more sustainable world and reinforcing its commitment to the circular economy, Holcim El Salvador, through its subsidiary brand Geocycle, inaugurated the first station for the separation of municipal solid waste in the country.
