According to the firm Forward Keys, specialized in sector studies, this year El Salvador registers a 45% increase in the number of tickets (to visit) confirmed in the first quarter of 2022, compared to 2019. Thus, the country is positioned as one of the two destinations in Central America where there will be more scheduled trips.

According to Forward Keys, at the end of 2021, international arrivals to El Salvador increased 5%, a period prior to the effects of the pandemic. It is the only one in the Central American region where there was an increase.

The country was selected, once again, as a destination for an elite sports tournament. The World Surf League chose Punta Roca La Libertad to celebrate the seventh stop of the Championship Tour (CT), of the 11 that make up the championship.

This is the first time that a Central American beach will host a CT stop, where the top representatives of the sport participate. To develop it, the League chooses only the beaches with the best waves.

The Central Government has taken the initiative to help private enterprise in this process of recovery from the effects of the pandemic. In the case of tourism, there is a strong institutional support focused on helping companies to resume their activities in the shortest possible time.

At the moment, the salvadoran delegation is at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2022), held in Spain. The country stands out for the takeoff that this sector has had during 2021, an advantage that multiplies the possibilities that a tourist from anywhere in the world has to enjoy the attractions offered by El Salvador.
