The modernization of the Dirección General de Migración by the Central Government has allowed the reconstruction of a better infrastructure of the border precincts to provide a better attention to travelers.
Border areas are also guarded by the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería (DGME) together with the Government's security forces.
