MOP informs that several projects have been put out to bid for execution in the AMSS

The Minister of Public Works (MOP), Romeo Herrera, informed that they have put out to public bidding a series of projects to be executed in different areas of San Salvador.

According to the minister of Public Works, the bidding conditions for the works of the Risk Mitigation Plan have already been published in the Sistema electrónico de compras públicas de El Salvador (COMPRASAL) and in the newspapers of greater rotation.

"We have put out to bid the vault project in the Brisas de San Francisco residential development, with an investment of US$3.2 million. We increased the scope, because we will do other risk mitigation works in the area to provide a solution to the families", said the minister of Public Works, Romeo Herrera.

Among the other works to be executed are:

  • Colonia San Martin de Porres, in Ciudad Delgado which will have a public tender being executed with an approximate amount of US$350,000.
  • The El Chaguite river will cost approximately US$1.7 million.
  • Arenal Seco stream, Los Aposentos community, Soyapango.
  • In the Las Pavas stream on the road to Tonacatepeque.
  • In the El Coro community, San Salvador.
  • In the Bello San Juan neighborhood, in the Planes de Renderos sector, San Salvador.
  • In the residential Quintas Doradas, in Panchimalco.

"We will also build a wall to protect and stabilize the land. The investment for the construction and supervision of the works is US$450,000, the families will be safer; with each winter they will stop living in fear", expressed the minister of MOP, Romeo Herrera.

He also added that the families of El Matazano diverted the waters to the Santa Lucía colony. That is why they will eliminate the two gullies, both in El Matazano and in Valle Nuevo, in the Belén community.

The minister assured that the institution has made 17% progress in the mitigation works. "We will not rest until the work is completed and we give an accurate answer to the more than 2,000 families in this sector", he said.

Likewise, the minister affirmed that "in August we came here, to the Las Cañas neighborhood, to start the works to eliminate a gully; we are working to stabilize the unstable soils. At this moment, we are placing a rainwater collector to divert, have a better control and avoid erosion".
