This recall was carried out during the vacation period to avoid abusive practices to the detriment of the population, since during the festive season there is a high level of consumption.
It was detailed that among these findings are 34 expired products, identified in restaurants and convenience stores.
"We deployed inspection teams and managed to carry out 228 verifications during the holiday period; we were able to identify 39 findings", informed the president of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Ricardo Salazar.
"Of the 345 products, 55%, or 193 products, were detected in the kitchen. This is a very delicate situation because of the high risk it represents for the consumer", he said.
Meanwhile, about 152 expired foods were identified on the shelves. In view of this situation, he urged the population to be careful when shopping and to report any irregularity through 910 or WhatsApp 7844-1482.
Finally, Salazar informed that during the vacations more than 2,362 people were attended, a little more than 700 through fixed points, while 74% of consumers were attended through WhatsApp and the 910 telephone number.
