Yesterday the Aerocluster El Salvador was launched, which seeks to integrate local suppliers to the national and international value chain of the aeronautical and aerospace industry, through manufacturing and service supply.

The main objective of the Aerocluster is to become an axis of economic development in the region due to its geographical position and will serve to promote the transfer of technological knowledge between the academy and the private sector to boost the generation of jobs and business.

The Aerocluster is under the "Triple Helix" modality, which is integrated by the Central Government, academia and the private sector.

According to minister María Luisa Hayem, in 2019, the sector received revenues in excess of US$320 million; generating, in El Salvador , more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, with salaries exceeding US$700.

Through the Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SICA), the Central Government has a partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to enhance efforts in the development of science and technology.
