25 lb. gas cylinder will have a slight price decrease and will cost the public US$12.64 without subsidy

The Ministry of Economy (MINEC), announced new variations in the prices of Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG), which will be in effect from wednesday, december 1 until december 30, 2021.

One of the most used gas cylinders by the salvadoran population is the 25 pound presentation has presented a decrease in its price for the month of december, its price for people who do not have subsidy will cost US$12.64 and for those who do have subsidy of US$8.04, it will be US$4.60.

The 35-pound presentation for the month of december will cost US$17.60 without subsidy, but with subsidy of US$8.04 it will be US$9.56.

The 20 lb. cylinder now costs US$10.18 and discounting the Central Government subsidy of US$8.04 it will be US$2.14.

As for the 10 pound cylinder, it will cost US$6.17, without subsidy, but with the stabilization fund it will be US$5.21.

The Directorate of Hydrocarbons and Mines of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines informs that it is continuously monitoring the compliance of the price and exact weight in points of sale and calls upon the population to report any non-compliance in the price of the cylinders, that according to article 9-A of the Law Regulating the Deposit, Transport and Distribution of Petroleum Products, it is the competence of the Ministry of Economy to fix the maximum sale price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), for domestic consumption while it is a subsidized product.
