The Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (COEXPORT), was in a morning interview in which they explained that, in 2021, exports have grown compared to 2019 and ensure that by the end of the year these will grow US$6,500 million between goods and services.

The President of COEXPORT, Marvin Melgar said that exports this year the whole region has benefited from remittances, as well as in El Salvador and therefore there is more money and possibility of consumption in the region and the country.

Melgar said that there are efforts to bring traditional industries, which generate employment. The U.S. market continues to be the big bet to produce El Salvador and consume there.

Likewise, he added that if inflation can be controlled from the oil point of view, this will help other raw materials to go down, so that in 2022 it can start with an empowered growth.

He said logistics has suffered one of the major impacts of the pandemic. From China to the region, they have registered increases in maritime freights from US$2,000 to US$20,000.

The executive director of COEXPORT, Silvia Cuellar, affirmed that remittances make up the balance with US$6,000 million. She also pointed out that the production of raw materials is increasing more in value than in volume. Garments are being given added value.
