More than 780 thousand travelers entered and left the country during the Christmas and New Year's Eve Season 2021

During the Christmas and New Year's holidays, from december 1st to 31st, 2021, a total of 780,965 people entered and left the country, a figure that represents an increase of 189% compared to the same period last year, as a result of the excellent work strategies led by the Central Government where El Salvador remains as a safe destination for travelers.

According to statistical data, during the last two weeks where the maximum peak of migratory flows is registered, from december 15, 2021 to january 2, 2022, a total of 273 thousand 859 people entered the country, likewise 250 thousand 355 between nationals and foreigners left through the different border points, figures that total 524 thousand 214 travelers.

With the strengthening of more than 400 immigration officers, who provided service nationwide 24 hours a day in all land borders, air and sea ports, the migratory flow was agile and orderly, ensuring the registration of income and departure of salvadorans and foreigners to our national territory.

The Pre-check area counted a total of 1,909 revisions of notarial certificates of permission to leave the country for children and adolescents who traveled abroad. Likewise, a total of 20,998 private individuals, tour operators and international transportation were reported to have made use of this service to facilitate their border registration.

In addition, our branches in Santa Ana, San Miguel, Usulutan and Cascadas, which provided extraordinary service on December 27 and 28, issued 1,186 passports to users who left their paperwork to the last minute. In addition, services were provided for foreigners, pre-check-in, review of notarial certificates, among others.
