Housing has invested US$224.5 million in contribution of houses for 56% of women

The Housing System in the area of credits, property deeds, contributions for construction or improvement, 56% corresponds to women, this resultes into an investment of US$224.5 million, which have been made available to this sector.

According to data from the Ministry of Housing, in the area of legalization, 63 % of the property deeds are in favor of women. Meanwhile, in the area of contributions for the construction and improvement of housing, 56% are for the benefit of women. When talking about credits, 53.7% are in favor of women.

These figures are important because through adequate housing, the Government is encouraging economic autonomy and providing the necessary tools for women and their children to improve their living conditions.

In addition, the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, highlighted the initiatives that have materialized in order to facilitate housing construction projects in recent years. This becomes an incentive for developers to carry out social interest projects that guarantee that more women can have adequate, safe and own housing.

"At the initiative of the Central Government, we have new laws that have been approved by the Legislative Assembly and facilitate our work to grant construction permits or feasibility studies".

In general, US$369 million have been deeded this year, benefiting 17,984 Salvadorans with housing loans. In the first two months of 2022, US$34.1 million was deeded, benefiting 1,417 families.
