BCR affirms that may is the second month with the second highest amount of US$684.3 in exports

The Banco central de Reserva (BCR), informed through its twitter account that El Salvador exported US$684.3 million in goods in May 2022, being the second month with the highest amount of exports so far this year.

Salvadoran goods exports in the first five months of 2022 totaled US$3.16 billion, with an annual growth of 17%.

He assured that the exports with the highest growth were those of maquila with 17% and those of the manufacturing industry with 15%, especially of plastic products, textiles, paper and cardboard.

According to the BCR, the country exported 815 products to 108 countries around the world, Central America being the main destination of salvadoran exports, where 45% of the total is sent. Exports to this region increased 21%.

Imports made by El Salvador between january and may 2022 totaled US$1,592 million, registering an increase of 28%, behavior that includes the growth of 19% in purchases of consumer goods and 13% in purchases of capital goods.
