Huawei launches smart storage system and other solutions for the PV market at Intersolar South America

Written by Paty Salinas

On the occasion of Intersolar South America, Huawei, a global leader in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, presented new solutions for the PV market considering the growing increase in generation in Brazil, which has already exceeded 11GW by mid-2022.

The company launched three products: the new 50KTL-M3 inverter, which will be aimed at the commercial and industrial market, with a capacity of 50KTL; the LUNA2000-200KWH-2H0 smart storage system that can be integrated into the 100kW PCS; and finally, to avoid problems caused by shading in PV modules in rooftop installations - a common situation also in commercial and industrial installations - Huawei launches the MERC-1100W-P and MERC-1300W-P optimizers, bringing maximum efficiency and energy production of the system.

The inverters are equipped with AFCI (arc fault circuit interrupter), a technology that relies on Artificial Intelligence to detect and interrupt electrical arcs, a phenomenon that can cause fires if not interrupted, due to the high temperatures reached. Along with the use of optimizers, the inverters also have a fast shutdown function, which reduces the voltage of the PV array to 0 volts and offers safety for carrying out maintenance on systems or roofs, and even for emergencies, allowing firefighters to intervene on the PV system safely.

For the utility sector, Huawei is launching the SUN2000-330KTL-H1 inverter, which features 6 MPPTs, 28 monitored strings, compatibility with high current modules and increased safety with the Smart String Level Switch.

At Huawei's booth - "Smart PV and Storage - Anytime for Anytime" at Intersolar, new technologies and the power of solar combined with smart storage were demonstrated, which could enable the advancement of solar power deployment as a primary source. This will enable industries and households to benefit from clean electricity.

During the event, the multinational company also showed the simulation of how an electric arc is carried with AFCI and without AFCI, to promote the resource of this company, in addition to the following solutions: FusionSolar 6.0+ Smart PV Solution and ESS Smart String.

"Huawei is committed to advancing the digitization of the energy sector and collaborating with industries to achieve carbon neutrality in order to build a better and more sustainable future", said Hery Wang, president of Huawei Digital Power Latin America at Intersolar.
