In 12 months, the airline has inaugurated 6 routes to Central America, Mexico and the United States.

Volaris El Salvador, the salvadoran flag carrier and first ultra low cost airline in the country, celebrates its first anniversary operating six routes regularly in Central America, Mexico and the United States, and as the second operator with the largest supply of seats available in the country.

Volaris has carried out 2,800 operations in El Salvador and has transported 350,000 passengers in the last twelve months. Of this total, 1,400 operations and 125,000 passengers correspond to the salvadoran subsidiary. At the end of its first year, the fleet of two Airbus A320neo aircraft of the latest generation allowed an increase in frequencies to reach, last august, 298 operations, 50 percent more than the monthly average of 196.

On september 15, 2021 Volaris made its first flight as a salvadoran airline on the San Salvador-Mexico City route, a month later it inaugurated flights to Cancun and on October 19 it expanded its offer with the San Salvador-San Pedro Sula route, in Honduras.

Last february, Volaris El Salvador became the second airline in the country to obtain the Foreign Air Operator permit, issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), which allows direct scheduled flights from El Salvador to the United States, with the aim of linking salvadoran and Central American families traveling between their country of origin and the cities of New York (JFK), Washington, DC (IAD) and Los Angeles (LAX).

"The Volaris family appreciates the trust of salvadorans and Central Americans who recognize low-cost aviation as the new way to travel, which makes it possible for more than 10 percent of our customers to travel by air for the first time. By democratizing air transportation, we encourage demand and stimulate economic spillover in local economies", said Ronny Rodriguez, general manager of Volaris El Salvador.

El Salvador has positioned itself as one of the main emerging world destinations thanks to its natural attractions and cultural offerings. According to the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA), between january 1 and august 14, 2022, more than 2.1 million travelers entered the country by air. Similarly, the World Tourism Organization recognizes El Salvador as one of the 15 countries in the world that have managed to recover their tourism revenues, compared to 2019.

As part of its anniversary, Volaris El Salvador launched “Un año se nos pasó volando”, a dynamic with which a winner and his companion can enjoy a year of unlimited flights. those interested in participating can enter to: Facebook.com/volariscentroamerica.
