CONAMYPE and Cluster SMODA develop business meeting with Creative Industry MSEs

Written by Evelyn Alas

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) in coordination with the MSEs belonging to the Cluster SMODA developed a business meeting to bring supply and demand in the MSEs belonging to this initiative.

The objective of this business roundtable is to generate business contacts that will stimulate the economy by bringing local market demand to companies engaged in the design of clothing, footwear, accessories or decorative home products.

The event was attended by different MSEs served by our institution, who had the opportunity to learn about the products and services of about 20 supplier companies.

SMODA is a program designed by CONAMYPE and has been operating since 2019, where productive and commercial relations are promoted among the participating companies, in order to develop quality products to be exported, in the category of "Handmade", reflecting culture, identity, design and talent of salvadorans.

Currently, there are more than 130 MSEs that make up SMODA, and all are advised by a creative committee made up of distinguished and recognized designers from different specialties, who share their knowledge and experience ad honorem.

The cluster has promoted entrepreneurs, micro and small enterprises in the creative fashion industry, which are all those dedicated to clothing and textile design, clothing, footwear, handbags, accessories, fabrics and textile surface interventions, which collaborate strategically in the development of designer products.

CONAMYPE has developed a process to strengthen the technical and entrepreneurial capacities of the participating MSEs, which, according to a previous diagnosis, allows identifying the needs of each of the companies and outlining a personalized work path that includes several areas of innovative and creative development.
