MIDES defines waste collection process

Written by Dinero Staff

The task of keeping cities clean involves a series of actions and steps that affect not only the elimination of garbage piles, but also environmental care.

The solid waste company MIDES shared its daily operational process, from garbage collection to post-collection management.

"Get to know the processes we carry out in MIDES, for urban solid waste. We know that a clean country is health and our mission is to contribute daily to keep it free of waste", said MIDES.

Among the steps the company takes on a daily basis are:

  • Every morning they collect waste from each municipality, residence and colony of different localities.
  • The compactors arrive at the transfer point and unload the waste in gondolas, which have a capacity of up to 30 tons, in order to make transportation to the landfill efficient.
  • The weight of the amount of waste entering the landfill is calculated and the waste is verified to be common.

In El Salvador, MIDES is the company that specializes in solid waste treatment, under certification and control standards that contribute to proper waste management, focused on minimizing environmental impacts. However, its social contributions are also part of the company's commitment to be part of the country's development.
