Cyber risks are growing, but experts say they are not growing at the same pace

Written by Evelyn Alas

Cyber risk is growing rapidly. It is the eighth most worrying globally in an 8-year horizon, according to the report presented by Marsh McLennan and Zurich in Davos; it appears among the top three in the Axa Group's Global Risk Survey and is the most worrying for spanish companies, according to the recent AGCS ranking.

However, we are not prepared for it, among other reasons because there are not enough professionals with skills in the field. In Spain, for example, the demand for professionals specialized in cybersecurity will double the available supply in 2024, according to the report 'Analysis and Diagnosis of Cybersecurity Talent in Spain'.

So much so that, according to the Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad (INCIBE), one of the top priorities of the Administration is currently facing the "challenge of identifying, attracting, developing and retaining talent in the various fields of cybersecurity".

The insurance sector is no exception. There is a growing demand for experts capable of understanding vulnerabilities and threats, establishing the necessary security measures and detecting potential attackers in their own companies. And also for professionals who can offer insurance coverage against these cyber risks.

Training experts in cyber-risk management and cyber-insurance

With the aim of training these experts in high demand in the market, INESE Insurance School is launching a new edition of its Expert in Cyber Risk and Cyber Insurance management course.
