MOP delivers three renovated road axes in San Salvador with an investment of US$11 million

The Minister of Public Works (MOP), Romero Rodríguez, and the director of FOVIAL, Alexander Beltrán, delivered 10.92 kilometers of totally renovated roads, which include the Hipódromo and Venezuela boulevards, as well as the Manuel Enrique Araujo boulevard.

The total investment exceeds US$11 million and is part of the first phase of the intervention of the road axes, informed the FOVIAL director.

The works are part of the 18.44 kilometers of a first stage of reconstruction of the road axes of Greater San Salvador. While the works in the Hipódromo Boulevard and Manuel Enrique Araujo Avenue are at 100%, the Panamerican Highway in the section of the Boulevard del Ejército-San Martín is 51% complete.

The ministry also announced the beginning of the construction of a 4 kilometer bike path (two on each side), a project that will be located on the Hipódromo Boulevard, from the Italia traffic circle, passing through the Las Américas traffic circle and ending at the La Capilla traffic circle.

The Central Government maintains a firm commitment to rehabilitate the country's road network with an investment that exceeded US$200 million last year. In which 337.35 kilometers of road were reconstructed, while another 7,003.12 kilometers of road were intervened with patching and recarpeting works, indicated minister Rodríguez.

The head of the MOP said that now the roads are better than before, but they will continue working to continue improving the country's roads and will seek to have the best road network in the region.
