Savings accounts grew US$637.2 million to april 2022: SSF

The Superintendencia del Sistema Financiero (SSF), indicates through its Twitter account that savings accounts showed a growth of US$637.2 million compared to the same period last year, as a positive indicator of the soundness of banking in the country.

The evolution of these accounts as of april 13, 2022 has been US%,812.6 million or 12.3% being US$634.2 million more than in comparison to 2021 which was US$5,175.4.

It also highlights that the country's economy maintains its dynamism, reflected in the inter-annual growth in the amounts of loans of the banking sector, reflected in the month of april of this year an increase of US$1,219.1 million, compared to the same period last year.

This year the amount reached US$16,206.4 million, 8.1% and US$1,219.1 million more than last year's US$14,987.3 million.

State-owned banks registered an inter-annual growth of 12.53% in the amount of loans granted and of 26.62% in deposits, demonstrating the confidence of the population in state-owned banks and the impulse they provide to the country's economy.

Loans reached US$1,325 million with a growth of US$147.6 million, or 12.53% more than last year.

Deposits reached US$1,797 million, a growth of 26.62%, US$337.8 million more than in 2021.
