To date these Salvadorans have generated US$303.7 million of investment under the Directorate of Investment Attraction SALEX and municipalities.
Each initiative is in different locations, ranging from Ahuachapán to La Unión. For example, Sociedad SHB, through Innovaciones Agroindustriales en El Salvador, is promoting an agricultural project in San Pedro Puxtla, Ahuachapán.
One of the main objectives of this group is to foster more jobs in the locality and bring development to more locations. For example, the S.H.B. partnership will invest an estimated US$2 million, but will also open up opportunities for local residents.
Agribusiness projects are also sources of employment.
The head of PROESA, Salvador Gómez, indicated that the projections are to generate 100 jobs, plus the current 65 jobs that will accompany them until they see their products positioned in international markets.
Around three million salvadorans live abroad. Each year they send between US$5 billion and US$7 billion in family remittances.
