Maquila reports US$129 million additional exports compared to the same period of 2021, plastic US$96 million, food US$84 million, agricultural products US$64 million, textiles US$63 million, electricity US$32 million.
Meanwhile, in august 2022, electric energy exports grew by more than 3,000%, from US$1 million in august 2021 to US$33 million in august 2022.
Also, coffee exports registered an important annual increase of 60%, accumulating US$174.5 million up to august 2022, with the main buyer countries being: Belgium, Germany, the United States, Italy and Japan.
Also, electrical semiconductors accumulated US$183 million with a growth of 15.4%.
El Salvador exports to 120 countries around the world, among the main ones, Central America exported US$2,290 million with a growth of 18.3%, being the recipient of 45% of salvadoran exports, which represented a better performance compared to exports sent to the United States, which totaled US$1,970.6 million, with a growth of 11.8%.
The total number of registered exporting companies as of august is US$2,236 million with a growth of 2.8%, which means that 61 new companies are exporting.
