The enrollment of new workers in the social security system maintains a positive trend, despite the difficulties of the international socioeconomic environment.

It is important to note that practically nine out of 10 of these people are in the private sector.

The most notorious changes when compared to 2022 occurred in the Construction industry, where the incorporation of new contributors grew 134%, and the commerce, restaurants, hotels, transportation and storage sector, where a 29% increase was registered.

The ISSS detailed that, as of december 2022, the payroll closed with a total of 968,245 workers, which represents an increase of 5.8% compared to 2021. Only the private sector, for example, closed with 44,547 plus 6.1% variation.

This means that, at the end of the year, there were 52,990 more people in the ISSS contributors' registry, compared to the following year.

Public investment of more than US$1.7 billion, the increase in tourism and private investment thanks to the improved public security environment, together with the frontal fight against tax evaders, have facilitated the creation of employment opportunities in various sectors.
