Veterans and former combatants are benefited with the delivery of US$336,000 in seed capital, with the objective of improving the quality of life of their families through the creation of agro-productive projects.

This is the third grant made by the Central Government and was presided over by the minister of Agricultura y Ganadería, Óscar Guardado, and the executive director of the Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal (CENTA), Edgardo Reyes.

The funds are part of the program "Strengthening, establishment and development of agricultural projects", benefiting 112 salvadorans with an amount of more than $3,000 each. The execution is in charge of CENTA, autonomous of the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), in coordination with the Instituto Administrador de los Beneficios de los Veteranos y Excombatientes (INABVE).

Minister Guardado explained that this is just one of the initiatives of the Central Government that demonstrates the work to contribute to the generation of productive initiatives, which translates into more and better opportunities for personal and family growth through technical training; CENTA and INABVE articulate efforts to bring technical assistance, training and technification to the communities where veterans and ex-combatants live.

This program is like a very positive symbiosis, that is, the institution transfers technology and INABVE provides seed capital that makes it possible for the beneficiaries to become involved in productive insertion. Through technical assistance and training, it is ensured that the management provided to crops and animals is technified.

"For the first time we are working together to give you real support. Today we are providing answers, with concrete actions; hand in hand with the government, we are offering free benefits for you", said Juan Ortiz, president of INABVE.
