Huawei successfully completed the ninth edition of its Semillas para el Futuro: program for students from Central America and the Caribbean in San Jose, Costa Rica. 92 students from the region had the opportunity to receive training from ICT industry experts, INCAE (Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas) professors, representatives from government institutions and organizations such as UNESCO.

Huawei Technologies Central America and the Caribbean, a leading provider of information and communications technologies (ICT), announces the registration for the 2023 edition, at regional level, of its flagship corporate social responsibility program, Semillas para el Futuro, which provides an annual opportunity for university students throughout Central America and the Caribbean, to be trained in topics related to the world of ICT.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, approximately 200 million people do not have access to basic digital infrastructure, in addition to this, more than a third of households in Latin America still do not have an internet connection and the region continues to lag behind other economies, according to World Bank data.

As part of the celebration of the closing of the Semillas para el Futuro program, accompanied by university directors and government representatives, its main allies, celebrated the successful completion of the program for 2022.
