BANDESAL and IDB launch the Primer Programa de Acceso a Créditos for MSMEs for US$200 million

Today the Banco de Desarrollo de El Salvador (BANDESAL), launched the " Primer Programa de Acceso a Créditos " for the recovery of MSMEs, for an amount of US$200 million granted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which seeks to support sustainability.

According to the President of BANDESAL, Juan Pablo Durán, the credit access program has two lines of credit for women entrepreneurs and for salvadoran micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which will be placed through intermediary financial institutions, allied to the bank.

In addition, the credit has been raised for 25 years, with availability for people to transfer with up to three years of grace without paying capital, also special credit lines are aimed at all sectors, and has a component to support with US$40 million to companies led or whose majority shareholders are women.

The institution will finance the acquisition or development of buildings, facilities and physical infrastructure, the acquisition of land or productive real estate associated with investment projects, and the acquisition of machinery, among others.

"This project seeks to reactivate the economy of salvadoran companies through a new Programa de Acceso al Crédito, to which the intermediary financial institutions, allied to our bank, are added", said BANDESAL's President, Juan Pablo Durán.

The lines will be placed through intermediary financial institutions, allied to the bank, granting productive credits with easy access and favorable conditions for Salvadoran companies and women entrepreneurs.

These lines have terms from 1 to 20 years and a maximum grace period of 3 years depending on the destination of the credit.

"It is great that we are launching this loan today. We are very pleased to be part of this first program of access to credit", said IDB representative in El Salvador, Cesar Falconi.
