BANDESAL still grants loans to tourism sectors affected by Hurricane Julia

The Banco de Desarrollo de El Salvador (BANDESAL), reminds salvadoran producers that they can still apply to the special financing program for businesses or tourism sectors affected by Hurricane Julia.

Through this special financing program, credits will be granted under favorable conditions to benefit the productive sectors that were affected by Hurricane Julia, in order to grant credits for net working capital, to the agricultural, livestock, fishing, tourism and other sectors, that reside in the areas of medium to severe affectation and that, in turn, meet the requirements established by BANDESAL, to be qualified as eligible.

In order to be eligible and be able to apply for loans to be granted with resources from the Trust Fund, the following requirements must be met as a minimum:

  • Development of your economic activity in the areas affected by Hurricane Julia
  • Destination of net working capital financing for the reactivation of their business
  • Comply with the documentation requirements established by BANDESAL in order to be qualified as eligible
  • Register in gob.sv as an eligible person to access credit from the trust
  • Belong to the agricultural, livestock, fishing, and tourism sectors, among others
  • Have an A or B credit rating in the financial system
  • Have up to date credit payments with BANDESAL, Fondo de Desarrollo Económico (FDE) and FIREMPRESA
  • For natural or legal persons in the agricultural, livestock and fishing sector must be registered in the database of affected persons provided by the Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería.

The maximum amount to be financed under this program is US$3,500.00 for individuals and US$7,000.00 for legal entities. Only net working capital required to reactivate your business may be financed.
