Agreement to contribute to women's economic empowerment

Written by Dinero Staff

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) and the Instituto Salvadoreño de la Mujer (ISDEMU) signed an agreement to contribute to the empowerment of women through entrepreneurship and economic autonomy.

The purpose of the agreement is to define inter-institutional cooperation actions to coordinate the necessary actions to guarantee the effectiveness of ISDEMU and CONAMYPE's programs and projects for the economic empowerment of women.

Among some of the actions to be developed are the linking of ISDEMU users who are interested in entrepreneurship or have an ongoing business to CONAMYPE's offices so that they can participate in the Women's Entrepreneurship program and other services provided by CONAMYPE.

In addition, a registry of women entrepreneurs and productive associations of MSEs led by women will be created to identify their capabilities to provide goods or services in the public procurement market.

Likewise, a dissemination campaign on women's rights will be developed to make known the parameters of equity and preferential right to the benefit of MSEs led by women.
