CONAMYPE inaugurates National Export Forum in the western part of the country

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) held the "National Export Forum" in the western part of the country.

With the development of the agenda of this forum, CONAMYPE seeks to promote the export culture in MSEs, as well as to promote their exportable offer in international markets, and provide support to prepare them and adapt their products or services to the requirements and standards of international trade.

This year, MSEs with export potential and already exporting are participating; it has also been an opportunity for entrepreneurs who wish to update their knowledge in the area of international trade belonging to the following economic sectors: handicrafts, textile and clothing, footwear, technological development, food, beverages, food agro-industry.

With this type of activities, CONAMYPE seeks to reduce the knowledge gap that has become one of the main non-tariff barriers to exports in the MSE sector, in addition to the lack of knowledge of international requirements, standards and regulations, issues that must be reinforced annually.

In 2022, CONAMYPE has advised more than 1,200 MSEs on issues related to exports, and from 2019 to 2022 the services provided by the institution have totaled more than $2,000,000.00 dollars in sales abroad.

Currently, about 300 MSEs served by our institution, contribute more than 1000 products to the exportable supply of our country in the sectors: food, beverages, textiles and clothing, food agribusiness, services, natural cosmetics, various manufactures, footwear, handicrafts, furniture, among others.

Likewise, with the support of CONAMYPE, MSEs have participated in at least 120 promotional events, including international business meetings, business appointments, trade missions and international fairs.

It is worth noting that the MSEs served by CONAMYPE report that most of their exports go to Central American countries (43%), followed by the United States (40%), Europe (11%) and Mexico (6%).
