To help families live better lives, Walmart de México y Centroamérica strengthens its supplier pillar through its Tierra Fértil program, which has been supporting small farmers in El Salvador for several years to generate development and employment in areas close to its operations.

The project was carried out under an alliance with CLUSA El Salvador and benefited 3 producers and 104 horticulturalists in the upper area of the municipality of San Ignacio, Chalatenango, and in Nahuizalco, Sonsonate.

Farmers in Chalatenango, La Libertad and San Salvador are receiving their 2023 Agricultural Packages, which include 25 pounds of certified corn seed, a quintal of 15-15-15 fertilizer, a liter of foliar fertilizer and a seed treater; raw materials that will help increase crop productivity.

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE), inaugurated the diploma course "Local Economic Development: Proposing a quality leap for municipal management", in zone II (San Salvador, La Libertad and Chalatenango), for representatives of local governments.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in conjunction with the Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (IOM) and in coordination with the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), launched a socioeconomic reintegration program for young returned migrants in the department of Chalatenango.

The Central Government will invest US$24 million in the RECETO program, which will provide 600 greenhouses and the irrigation technology system, with a 10-year guarantee. This project will generate self-sustainability and food self-sufficiency for the country.
