Create a quick shortcut with the side button, edit photos like a pro in your smartphone's gallery and optimize the privacy of your shared photos are part of the resources that will elevate your multitasking experience when using your Galaxy S21.

Samsung's Galaxy S21 lineup features bold and iconic design, professional-grade cameras and video capabilities, and delivers powerful performance and connectivity. But there are still some little-known features that can further enhance your experience. Now learn about five of those great features:

Create a quick shortcut with your phone's side button - The side buttons on Galaxy smartphones already come configured to turn off the screen, turn off the device, or increase and decrease the sound volume. But it is possible to customize them to, for example, open an application:

  • Access settings, search for Side Button and select it. Then tap the side key again.
  • Select the desired setting. To press twice, there are the options: Quick Launch Camera, Open Bixby or Open App;
  • Choose open app, tap the settings icon to select the app you want to open.

  • Edit photos like a pro in your mobile device's gallery: the One UI 3.1. update offers the Object Eraser tool, which lets you remove items from your photos with just a quick tap. To enable you to use it, follow these steps:
  • Tap the edit icon at the bottom and then choose More Options (the three vertical dots).
  • Select Labs and then tap the button next to the Object Eraser to add it to your editor.
  • Next, select Back, scroll to the left at the bottom of the screen and tap the Object Eraser icon - shaped like an eraser.
  • Finally, select the object or part of the photo and then click Delete to delete it.
  • Tap the checkmark to save the image. If you are not satisfied with the result, tap the X icon and try again.

Automate settings according to your routine: Bixby (Samsung's virtual assistant) can follow the rhythm of your daily activities, muting notifications when you start your workday, studies or when you go to bed. It is also possible to automatically activate the blue light filter and decrease the brightness level of the screen, always at the same time of day. To activate Bixby Routines, you must do the following:

  • Access Settings, scroll down and tap Advanced resources and then Bixby Routines;
  • Scroll to the left and tap and hold Bixby Routines. For easy access to Bixby Routines, you can add an app icon to your phone's screen;
  • In Bixby Routines, tap More options (the three vertical dots), then press Settings. Tap the button next to Add Bixby Routines to the Apps screen.

Increase the privacy level of your shared photos: all Galaxy S21 family devices have the Private Share feature that prevents recipients from sharing those images you shared to them in the future. You can also remove location information from photos you send to others so they don't know where they were captured. To use this option, navigate to the photo you want to share.

With the photo selected, tap the Share icon below the image;

  • To remove location information from the photo, tap Remove Location Data at the top of the screen;
  • Scroll down and select Private Sharing to choose a recipient to share your photo with. You can search for a contact or choose a recent one.
  • Tap the name of the chosen contact and then Send.

Hide apps you don't use often without deleting them: thanks to Samsung One UI 3.1, it is possible to not see apps and therefore only make visible the tools or apps you use the most. If you need them, you can still access them using the app search or universal search. To hide applications follow this procedure:

  • Press and hold the Home screen and tap Home Screen Settings;
  • Then, select Hide Apps from the Launcher Settings;
  • And choose the specific apps you want to hide.
