Likewise, it will inspect prices in sight, labeling of expiration dates of food products and their validity, as well as the charges made at the cashier's desk, to guarantee that they are in accordance with the price informed to the consumer, among other provisions of the Ley de Protección al Consumidor (LPC).
The president of the Defensoría, Ricardo Salazar, led the operation in Metrocentro, in the east of the country, in which consumers will have access to information, advice and complaint services through fixed points located in the main shopping centers of the country.
He announced that the Defensoría del Consumidor will publish the comparative survey of Who's Who in the prices of cakes, to provide useful information to consumers, and a survey on consumption habits and preferences of Salvadorans on Mother's Day, the results of which will be published soon.
Salazar verified with the inspection staff the compliance of promotions and offers of furniture and appliances, among other goods that are usually given as gifts during the current commercial season of high consumption.
