Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), reaffirms its commitment to sustainability through actions that generate a positive impact on individuals, families and communities. The corporation is distinguished by incorporating sustainability into its business strategy, aligning with its purpose of “Generating, with family warmth, life-changing opportunities”.
The corporation has achieved four carbon neutral certifications in its feed and meal operations, two of which are in El Salvador, demonstrating its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Sustainability is at the core of CMI operations, encompassing environmental, social, occupational health and safety initiatives. One of its most significant achievements, through its Food Business Cluster, is the reduction of 1,000,000 tons of CO2 in almost a decade in the region. This progress has been made possible, in part, by innovative nutritional solutions on their poultry farms and the use of renewable energy, such as the installation of more than 5,000 solar panels in their operations in the country.
Another key initiative in promoting the circular economy is the collection of more than 700 tons of vegetable oil from its restaurants, such as Pollo Campero and Don Pollo, to be processed into biodiesel.
In terms of corporate responsibility, CMI has trained more than 2,000 entrepreneurs from the bakery sector through Cocreo – Academia de Panadería y Pastelería, thus boosting local entrepreneurship and strengthening the region’s economy. In addition, it has donated more than 25,000 of poultry and sausage products to the Food Bank over the past two years and invested in infrastructure to improve educational facilities in nearby communities.
CMI has always been committed to the environmental and community welfare of El Salvador and with these projects reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development by implementing businesses, programs and initiatives that promote environmental protection, the well-being of individuals and economic empowerment.
