In an effort to continue their commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of the communities where they operate, Fundación Holcim El Salvador and Glasswing International signed a collaboration agreement to carry out a Community Participatory Diagnosis in the communities of Agua Fría and Las Quebradas, located in the district of Metapán.
This agreement is part of Holcim’s corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to build progress for people and the planet. Through this partnership, both foundations seek to identify needs and opportunities in the areas of education, employment, environment and health, to implement projects that improve the quality of life and strengthen the social fabric in Holcim’s communities of influence.
“At Holcim we strongly believe in the importance of working together with the communities where we operate. This diagnosis is the first step in identifying how we can contribute more effectively to local development and the well-being of these families, always aligned with our commitment to building a more sustainable future for all. We thank Glasswing for becoming our strategic allies in this process”, said Marcelo Arrieta, CEO of Holcim El Salvador.
Community Participatory Diagnosis will be supported by community leaders and local organizations, in a process that seeks not only to collect key information, but also to encourage dialogue and participation of the inhabitants of Agua Fría and Las Quebradas. Glasswing, responsible for the execution of the diagnosis, will deploy a specialized team to carry out reconnaissance visits, mapping of local institutions, focus groups and interviews to produce a detailed report on the needs and capacities of communities.
As a result of this diagnosis, Fundación Holcim will implement projects aimed at improving access to education and health, strengthening employment opportunities, and promoting environmental conservation, thus contributing to the overall well-being of these communities.
“We are excited to work with key allies, such as Holcim, who have the interest and willingness to make a difference in our country. We believe this effort is key to identifying opportunities that will enable us to support and strengthen more communities, in order to achieve a meaningful and lasting impact while encouraging community participation”, mentioned Natalia Salcedo, country director at Glasswing International.
