Grupo Bimbo, through its global sports event, Bimbo Global Race 2024, reaffirms its commitment to the community by donating 44,544 slices of bread to Banco de Alimentos El Salvador. This solidarity initiative was carried out as part of the race, in which each registration was translated into donations of bread for people in vulnerable situations.
Bimbo Global Race 2024, the world’s largest race with a social cause, held simultaneously in all the countries where Bimbo has a presence, brought together thousands of people around a common goal: to promote an active and healthy lifestyle and at the same time bring food to the most vulnerable salvadorans. The race not only promotes physical wellness, but also reflects the values of Grupo Bimbo, which seeks to leave a positive footprint in communities around the world.
This significant delivery was possible thanks to the commitment of 2,200 salvadorans who accepted the challenge. For each registration, the bakery delivered 20 slices of bread to the Banco de Alimentos, for an overall total of 44,544 slices of bread that will feed those who need it most.
“We are very proud of the results obtained in this edition of the Bimbo Global Race. Every step the participants took helped to bring food to those who need it most. The donation of these slices of bread to the Banco de Alimentos is a reflection of Bimbo’s commitment to contribute to a better world”, said Karen de Egan, Marketing Manager of Grupo Bimbo El Salvador.
Banco de Alimentos El Salvador will be in charge of delivering the slices of bread to thousands of vulnerable families in the country, ensuring that the aid translates into plates of food for those who need it most. This alliance seeks to generate a real and lasting impact on society, bringing closer the message of solidarity and empathy that Bimbo promotes.
“We thank Bimbo for supporting us with their donations to contribute to the food security and nutrition of more than 42 thousand salvadorans. Their help means a lot to us and our 60 beneficiary organizations”, said María Inés Olivares, General Director.
In this way, Bimbo ends its Bimbo Global Race 2024 and invites salvadorans to stay active and healthy to join in the tenth edition next year.
