Holcim El Salvador was recognized as Company of the Year 2024 by the magazine Derecho y Negocios, in recognition of its leadership in sustainability, innovation and its commitment to the development of essential infrastructure in the country. This award highlights Holcim as a benchmark in the construction industry, celebrating its contribution to the progress of El Salvador during 75 years of operations.
Throughout its history, Holcim El Salvador has driven the creation of greener and more resilient cities through its broad portfolio of cements and concretes, in addition to its subsidiary Geocycle, which is dedicated to transforming waste into usable energy. In recent months, the company has strengthened its leadership with key initiatives, including the production of solar-powered cement and the launch of ECOPact+, an eco-friendly concrete that incorporates recycled materials and promotes the circular economy. In addition, Holcim has optimized its operation with the Concrete Direct digital platform, which makes it easier for its customers to efficiently manage concrete orders in real time, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and digitalization in the industry.
Holcim’s leadership in sustainability was recognized with the “Champions of Sustainable Construction” award from the Green Building Council, highlighting its role in promoting environmentally responsible practices. In addition, through Geocycle, in 2023 it treated more than 52,000 tons of industrial and household waste.
Marcelo Arrieta, CEO of Holcim El Salvador, expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “We share this award with all the people who have been and are part of this story, as well as the customers and communities that have accompanied us on this journey. It encourages us to continue innovating and leading the way towards more sustainable construction, creating a positive impact in El Salvador and the region”.
As part of its comprehensive vision, Holcim also stands out as an admired employer brand that bases its success on the talent and commitment of its more than 700 employees. Improving leadership skills, promoting an inclusive work environment, and developing programs that strengthen professional growth have been key pillars in creating a work environment where each person feels valued and empowered to contribute to the company’s results.
In the social sphere, through the Fundación Holcim, the company annually benefits more than 9,500 people with infrastructure, education and health projects, mainly in the areas surrounding its operations.
