As part of the 30th anniversary of its Cultural Promotion Program, Bancoagrícola is pleased to announce the launch of the 32nd edition, a special work that honors the rich gastronomic tradition of El Salvador. This edition, entitled El Salvador, a history of flavors and colors, is an invitation to explore the culinary culture of the country through a chronicle that unites history, flavor and feeling.
30 years of cultural promotion: a cultural legacy and institutional commitment
Over three decades, the Editorial Project has been essential in highlighting and preserving El Salvador’s cultural identity. Bancoagrícola has published 32 editions of El Salvador, Un Rincón Mágico, making them a key tool for disseminating the country’s natural, historical and cultural wealth, both nationally and internationally. These books have reached institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, embassies, universities and foundations, and their high quality has been an excellent letter of introduction to salvadoran culture.
“We celebrate a legacy that has been key to the knowledge and recognition of our identity. El Salvador, Un Rincón Mágico is not only a publishing project, it is a collective work that began with the simple idea of sharing the best of our history, our traditions and our people. Today, 30 years after its inception, we can proudly say that this project has touched thousands of people and has positioned itself as a cultural reference for El Salvador and for those who know us from abroad”, said Rafael Barraza, Executive President of Bancoagrícola.
Celebrating gastronomy as a cultural heritage
For three decades, Bancoagrícola has published an annual book under its editorial project El Salvador, Un Rincón Mágico, a series of editions that celebrate the natural, historical and cultural richness of El Salvador. This year, in honor of its anniversary, the 32nd edition highlights one of the most fundamental aspects of Salvadoran identity: gastronomy.
“As the bank of salvadorans, it is an honor to present El Salvador, a history of flavors and colors, the 32nd edition of El Salvador, Un Rincón Mágico, with which we celebrate 30 years of cultural history. This new edition pays tribute to our gastronomy, tracing its evolution from the most ancient traditions to the tables of today, celebrating this special moment as it should be celebrated: with a true banquet of flavors that unites all generations of salvadorans”, said Rafael Barraza.
This edition not only rescues the gastronomic traditions of El Salvador, but also pays homage to the land that provides us with food and to the hands that elaborate the recipes that have passed from generation to generation. Through an exhaustive and serious study of historical sources, the work reveals lesser-known aspects of the country’s cuisine, exploring the techniques, processes and secrets that have shaped the culinary identity.
This historical legacy will be made available to key institutions in the country, such as the Ministry of Culture, the National Library, embassies, foundations and other entities that promote cultural identity.
