The government of El Salvador has announced a strategic alliance with Google Cloud, focused on promoting technological training and innovation in the country. This agreement seeks to reduce the digital divide and prepare salvadorans to face the challenges of a digitized world. The Escuela Superior de Innovación y Tecnología (ESIT) leads this initiative, working together with Google Cloud to offer advanced technological solutions and promote key competencies.
The Undersecretary of Innovation, Denis Pocasangre, highlighted that this alliance is part of President Nayib Bukele’s strategy to digitally transform the State, prioritizing sectors such as education and health. According to Pocasangre, the collaboration will provide training opportunities in demanded areas such as cloud engineering, generative artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity and digital leadership.
Adrien Messih, Google Cloud business leader in El Salvador, said that the goal is to prepare salvadorans for the jobs of the future, offering the necessary resources to perform optimally in a globalized work environment. This program seeks to impact both the public and private sectors.
The agreement also stands out for its accessibility, as all programs will be free, online and asynchronous. In addition, ESIT becomes the first salvadoran educational institution to be part of the Google Cloud Career Launchpad program, which provides industry-recognized certifications.
The government emphasized that these trainings will not only benefit the national level, but will also open doors to international opportunities. This approach aligns with the vision of preparing the population for a competitive and technologically advanced labor market.
