Artists and audiences will soon meet again at the Teatro Luis Poma to live unique experiences and feel a torrent of emotions with the plays of the 2025 Season. Unparalleled, fleeting and ephemeral…what happens at the Poma is unrepeatable.
This year, the country’s longest-running theater will divide its cycle of plays into three acts: the first will feature four shows and begins on february 20; seven plays will make up Act 2, which will begin on may 1; and Act 3 will feature six productions starting on august 21.
“After 21 years of uninterrupted seasons, we can confirm that theater exists with strength in our country. The plays are of quality, the actors are appreciated throughout Central America and there is a notable generational change”, commented the artistic director of the Teatro Luis Poma, Roberto Salomón, during the launching conference of the 2025 Season, called ‘El Poma, unrepeatable’.
The Executive Director of Fundación Poma, Juanita Zelaya de Müller, emphasized the commitment that Fundación Poma has shown to the development of art and culture since 2003, when the organization founded the Teatro Luis Poma.
“We are proud that for more than 20 years Fundación Poma has promoted the performing arts through this space, which not only provides artists with the right conditions to produce shows and audiences to enjoy them, but also contributes to the professional growth of the guild through other important initiatives”, said Fundación Poma’s executive director.
This year, in addition to its eagerly awaited billboard, Poma is also preparing for the mounting of plastic arts exhibitions in its lobby, as well as the beginning of the programs “Reading Afternoons” – a free family space open to all audiences – and “First Row”, an initiative that facilitates access to professional theater for students from different educational centers.
Salomón explained that, in addition to these cultural activities, in 2025 they will also develop the “Spectators’ School”, a format for conversation between artists and the public, with the aim of contributing to the development of a more knowledgeable, critical and demanding audience.
With its uninterrupted line-up of shows, El Poma is an iconic space for the enjoyment of the performing arts and with its variety of initiatives is a key player in the development of art and culture in El Salvador; El Poma, unrepeatable.
