The reference prices of fuels in El Salvador registered a reduction for the period from march 18 to 31, 2025, according to the Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas. The most significant adjustment was in diesel, which decreased US$0.10 per gallon in the central and western zone, and US$0.11 in the eastern zone.
The price of regular gasoline presented a reduction of US$0.05 per gallon in all zones of the country. In the central zone the price will be US$3.64, in the western zone US$3.65 and in the eastern zone US$3.68. This adjustment represents a slight decrease compared to previous weeks.

In the case of premium gasoline, the new price will be US$3.86 in the central zone, US$3.87 in the western zone, registering a decrease of US$0.04 per gallon in both zones, and US$3.91 in the eastern zone with a US$0.03 decrease.
The price of diesel in the central and western zones will decrease by US$0.10 per gallon to US$3.50 and US$3.51, respectively, and in the eastern zone it will decrease by US$0.11 to US$3.54. These reductions reflect international oil trends and expectations of greater supply in the markets.

According to the DGEHM, the fuel price reductions respond to external factors such as the increase in oil reserves in the United States, evaluations of increased production by OPEC, and the peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which could normalize the supply of Russian crude oil in the market.

With these new prices, consumers in El Salvador will see a relief in the cost of transportation and other fuel-dependent activities. However, the price trend is still subject to international oil dynamics.
