The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) successfully concluded its participation in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), consolidating its role as a key actor in mobilizing resources and promoting transformative initiatives in Central America. During its mission to Europe, the Bank’s delegation held high-level meetings that strengthen its capacity to manage and expand strategic alliances aimed at sustainable and inclusive development.

Led by Executive President Gisela Sánchez, the CABEI delegation actively participated in forums and bilateral meetings with representatives of the European Union, the Community of Latin American, and Caribbean States (CELAC) and multilateral organizations such as CAF. These spaces for dialogue allowed the Bank to position itself as a reliable partner in priority areas such as green transition, digital transformation, human development, and climate action.
One of the highlights was the participation of the executive vice president, Jaime Díaz, in strategic panels that addressed everything from sustainable financing at the local level to risk mitigation mechanisms and scaling regional solutions. In addition, an interregional working group was established with the Arab Coordination Group to design joint financial solutions in the countries of the region.

The visit also included CABEI’s presence at the official dinner hosted by His Majesty King Felipe VI, together with heads of state and leaders of multilateral organizations, reaffirming the Bank’s international projection and its role in the global financial architecture. In addition, the intervention of CABEI Representative in Spain, Mauricio Chacón, was highlighted in the panel on debt conversions for nature and climate, an innovative tool for financing sustainability without increasing the financial burden of countries.
With this mission, CABEI takes a firm step forward in the implementation of its Institutional Strategy 2025-2029, based on positive impact, high-impact finance, transparency, and operational excellence. The institution is consolidating its position as an engine of positive transformation, committed to the region’s well-being and to creating opportunities that improve the quality of life of its populations.
