The Don Bosco Multi-Gymnasium was the epicenter where creativity, technology, environmental commitment, and business came together during the Competición Nacional de Robótica STEAM Maker Challenge 2025, organized by FUSALMO as part of its innovative STEAM Maker Academy educational program.
Over three days, 214 girls, boys, and adolescents from across the country participated in this competition, which promotes the development of skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM), aligned with the demands of Industry 4.0. From critical thinking and programming to mechanical design and innovation, the young people demonstrated that El Salvador has great technological and human potential.

The competition was divided into two categories:
• Green Earth Mission – TRANSFORM Category (10-13 years): Teams designed robots capable of simulating soil decontamination.
• Ecolink – CREA Category (14-17 years): Participants created autonomous robots to restore ecosystems, collect water, and disperse seeds.

The event had a vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere, with more than 4,000 attendees, including students, faculty, families, sponsors, and the general public. It also featured prominent international partners such as Dr. Vince Wilczynski of Yale University, Lisa Chase, Stephanie Slezycki, and Lori Birch, all key members of FIRST Global, a leading robotics organization worldwide.
One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the selection of TEAM El Salvador, which will represent the country in the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 International Robotics Competition, to be held in Panama City this october, alongside delegations from more than 190 countries. The official presentation of the Salvadoran team will take place on august 21st during the Dinner of Joy.
