The president of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Ricardo Salazar, reported that a special ticket verification plan has been activated to ensure fan safety and prevent overselling or irregular ticket sales for high-demand sporting and entertainment events.
During a press conference, Salazar emphasized that this plan is being implemented in coordination with the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), with the goal of promptly detecting potential irregularities in the sale or resale of tickets.

“We have activated a plan to verify ticketing, for the safety of fans and to avoid situations such as overselling, as well as to prevent irregular ticket sales. We are working with the FGR to establish mechanisms to detect irregularities”, Salazar explained.

The head of the Defensoría also emphasized that the Smart Ticket platform—currently used for ticket sales—has security features that allow the authenticity of each ticket to be validated.
“The Smart Ticket platform has security features; when purchasing a ticket, it has a validated verification code, and at the time of purchase, the person does so through an account linked to an email address. This allows for control over the number of people in each seat and ensures that the established limits are not exceeded”, he said.
Salazar also noted that the seats will be open starting at 2:00 p.m., and urged attendees to arrive early to facilitate order and keep the access perimeter clear.
The Defensoría del Consumidor actions seek to strengthen confidence in digital sales systems and ensure that Salvadoran consumers have access to secure, transparent, and controlled processes, especially at large events where the risk of overbooking and fraud often increases.
