The Corte de Cuentas de la República (CCR), as part of the activities of the Ethics Week 2026 of this entity, developed the conversation «Public Ethics and Anticorruption Systems: the role of institutions in preventing and combating corruption», a space for reflection aimed at strengthening the culture of integrity and promoting the prevention of it corruption in the public sector.
The activity brought together more than 40 public servants, who participated in a space for analysis and exchange of experiences together with a panel integrated by the legal expert of the Hub Anticorruption and Economic Crimes for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Office of the United Nations Against Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Alvina Mangandi; member of the Government Ethics Court, Moris Landaverde; the director of Human Talent at CCR, Carlos Castillo; and the institution’s Anticorruption director, Arnoldo Parada.
During the event, the president of the CCR, Walter Salvador Sosa, said that «ethics is one of the main antidotes against corruption», highlighting that integrity constitutes a fundamental pillar to strengthen civic trust in public institutions.
The head of the Superior Audit Institution indicates that the Court of Accounts works to consolidate an authentic culture of integrity. He is called to strengthen these values as essential tools to prevent corruption and contribute to integral public management.
The conversation was moderated by the head of the Department of Access to Public Information and Official Information of the CCR, Renato Huezo. During the dialogue, the panelists addressed the main challenges facing public institutions to promote a culture of integrity and strengthen anti-corruption systems.
