The Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) announced that salvadorans who were unable to update the address on their Documento Único de Identidad (DUI) during the holiday period still have the opportunity to complete this process. The institution set august 27, 2026, as the deadline to modify the registered national address and facilitate the voting process in the 2027 Elections.
The electoral body reminded citizens that updating their address on their DUI allows them to exercise their right to vote more easily, as they will be assigned to a polling place closer to their residence.

For those who did not make the change during the holidays, the TSE indicated that the 22 DUI centers nationwide have resumed their regular hours, so users can go and complete the process before the deadline. Updating your voter registration address is an important process for organizing the upcoming elections, as it allows the TSE to have up-to-date voter information and improve the distribution of polling places.

The TSE urged the public not to wait until the last minute to complete the process and reminded them that keeping their DUI information up-to-date contributes to a more organized and accessible electoral process for all salvadorans.
Those who have not yet updated their address have until august 27, 2026, to complete the procedure and be prepared to participate in the 2027 elections.
